We need to stop trying to diagnosis everyone and everything these days. When did it become acceptable to do this?
People are obsessed with diagnoses because they’re so desperate to understand themselves and they think a clinical diagnosis is going to help this.
One video that I saw has stuck with me for months. It was of an older couple where the wife was doing a cute dance and the husband was joining in, and it says they’ve always been this way.
Whenever the wife danced, the husband would join her.
All of the top comments were about how this woman was neurodivergent!
“Oh, that neurospicy brain!”
“This person clearly has ADHD!”
“It’s cute to see older neurodivergent couples.”
What?!
When did becoming silly or happy become a diagnosis?
When did having personality quirks become a diagnosis?
Why are people so obsessed with labels? To the point that they can’t even watch a video or a TV show without trying to diagnosis the people they are seeing?
Not everyone needs a diagnosis unless they are looking for it. That is not going to help you to understand why you are the way you are.
>>>Diagnoses are created so the medical system can sell you a pill or a treatment. Period. They are not a way to understand your personality. <<<
If you want to get to know yourself:
- *Start emotional healing.
- *Work on trauma healing.
- *Do shadow work.
- *Do mindset work.
- *Sit with yourself every day and start allowing yourself to be in your body more when that becomes comfortable.
- *Spend more time in nature just BEING. Just observe.
- *Journal. Find journal prompts that will help you to understand yourself. These are the real ways to learn who you are.
Not everyone has a diagnosis. Not everyone is “neurospicy”. You’re allowed to just be YOU. No labels needed.
