Affordable Healing Tools
Not all healing tools need to be things you take or eat! There are so many amazing options out there for tools that can help with pain management, lymph flow, detox, and more.
I’ve accumulated a lot of tools over the years because I’m naturally a curious person. I love to try new things to see what might help the people I speak with on a daily basis. I usually stick to herbs and nutrition, but I really wanted to make a post about some tools that I have found very helpful in my own healing journey. It’s great that there are so many choices out there. You can truly choose what will be best for you!
Infrared Heating Pad

This heating pad has been a staple in my home for years now. It’s one of my favorite things for pain relief, relaxing, and lymph support.
What this heat basically does is stimulate your metabolism by increasing body heat slightly. This helps with getting the lymph moving, healing underlying infections, and even helps with weight loss. Some sources compare far infrared to a non-surgical form of liposuction- it can stimulate the fat cells to open up and dump their contents. This is why we need to start slowly with introducing this awesome healing tool- toxins get stored in fat, so this flushing can create quite a massive detox reaction.
This is a great support for those that need GENTLE healing. You can start with 5 minutes at a low temperature and work your way up to using it more. I usually keep mine at 120 degrees and use it for about an hour before bed. It can truly help with getting better quality sleep!
You can read my entire post on this heating pad here.
The Chirp Wheel
The Chirp Wheel is a new one for me, but it quickly became a favorite. I usually deal with tight shoulders and I tend to need more support in between chiropractic adjustments (I probably need to go more than I do though!). My chiropractor even told me that the Chirp Wheel is great! They have a bunch of options at this point. The first image above is the normal one that helps with stretching, massage, and it can help a lot with re-alignment. This is the one I went with, although I unfortunately didn’t get the set with the neck support, and I want that now. The second image above is for even deeper massage support, and the neck support is to help with those big trigger points in your neck (that one is NOT a roller- you just sit with it under your neck to help release tension).
This can be a great support for those that have chronic pain, stiffness, lymphatic sluggishness, and low energy. If you know you need movement but your body is just not ready for it, things like this (and most items on this list) can help with improving circulation.
Massager

I was sad to see that I cannot find the Pado Purewave on Amazon anymore! That is the exact massage I have used for years- they do still seem to have a website up, so I am not sure why they are no longer on amazon.
I found a similar looking massager that has great reviews though! This is another awesome tool for people with chronic tension, pain, stiffness, and lymph congestion. My Pado massager has been invaluable for me during my own healing from mold, chronic infections, and emotional trauma. I’ve had some increase in pain after starting trauma healing, so most of the tools on this list have been so helpful for me personally!
The first time I used this massager on my legs, I cried so hard- not from pain, but because it seemed to trigger an emotional release. That was the first time I really understood how we can store emotions in our bodies. If you deal with chronic pain or any type of chronic symptom, you might be holding onto old, stored traumatic energy. Check out my post here for more information.
Gua Sha

If you haven’t heard of Gua Sha yet, you are missing out. This simple but incredibly effective modality is AMAZING.
Gua Sha is a technique from Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses smooth tools (usually made from jade or other crystals) to help promote blood flow, stimulate the lymph, reduce wrinkles, reduce cellulite, reduce tension, reduce under eye bags, help sinus issues, and more. Most of the time you will see Gua Sha promoted for the face, but you can actually use it for the whole body.
I highly recommend watching the videos from Wildling Beauty to get ideas how to properly use this technique. They have tutorials for everything: face, belly, legs, whole body, even the butt (because believe it or not we store a LOT of tension there!).
Forget Botox and fillers- use Gua Sha to promote health AND beauty in safe, effective, long lasting, and affordable way.
This company has a lot of great options for stones: Rena Chris. I personally love stones like this one for the face (the extra edges can really help with tension) and a bigger one like this for the whole body.
You always want to oil up before using your stones too- never use them on dry skin! Some even prefer to use them in the shower as the water can help with gliding more easily. I use this Earthley Serum for a face oil, and I use this Earthley oil for the whole body.
Rebounder

A rebounder is actually one of the few things I don’t currently own, but eventually I’d love to get one again. For now, I have a yoga ball to sit and bounce on- it can help with the same things, although rebounding is a lot more effective.
The main reason why rebounding has such a good reputation is because of NASA. This study showed that rebounding is more effective, more efficient and causes less physical damage than running does. How is jumping up and down on a trampoline so effective? It exercises the entire body without any extra pressure on any specific body part (like with running- it is very hard on your knees and ankles).
Rebounding can be twice as efficient as running, plus it puts less stress on the heart, uses less energy, and it helps to activate the entire lymph system. The best part about rebounding is that you can do it anywhere! A mini-trampoline doesn’t take up much space in the home so you can rebound while watching TV, listening to music, or you can even take it outside and bounce in the sun with the added bonuses of getting fresh air and Vitamin D.
There are many great options for rebounders out there- getting one with a bar is likely great if you can!
Acupressure Mat

I absolutely LOVE my Shatki mat. I usually rotate between this and the infrared heating pad when I need some extra tension support. I am lucky enough to have the mat and the pillow for extra tension release. Highly recommend buying these items right from their site because they are constantly running sales and specials.
This is such a simple product but it can be SO amazing for your overall health and wellness. BUT be warned, it can take some getting used to. These acupressure mats can help with deeper sleep, pain relief, reducing headaches, improving your mental clarity, and more. You might need to ease into using these particular items as it can be quite uncomfortable at first. There is something called the “Shakti tingle” that happens as you allow yourself to be still on the mat- it can feel super warm as your body adjusts to the acupressure.
My experience with this mat was so amazing. After a few minutes, I can feel my nervous system calming down because I start to yawn or my stomach will start to gurgle- signs that your nervous system is actually letting you rest!
Working up to at least 20 minutes is key for the best results.
Acupressure Foot Massager

This was another recent purchase of mine (I actually got it for my birthday a few months ago!). Funny story: years ago before I even know about holistic health, I found a book about foot reflexology and nearly pursued a career in that. I was only 18 at the time and I unfortunately didn’t have the ability to get into any programs, so I ended up forgetting about the whole thing. I hate that I did that because massaging the feet and using acupressure points can be SO life-changing.
While this tool might look a bit insane, I promise you it’s really cool! I keep this under my desk and use it a lot while I work. It helps to stimulate lymph flow, reduces tension, and it can help with the whole body! This massager even comes with a handy foot reflexology chart that explains more about how this can benefit your whole body. I highly recommend trying to massage your own foot at first and see if you can find tender points and then match them up to the chart. See if you can pinpoint some problem areas. For example, I used to have a sore spot that is correlated to the adrenals. When I would go to acupuncture appointments years ago, my acupuncturist always needed to do these points!
Dry Skin Brush

Dry skin brushing is one of the most gentle modalities you can use for detox support.
This is a very simple method to helping the lymphatic system. Before showering, use a natural bristle brush (like this one) to brush your dry skin in circular motions upward from the feet to the torso and then from the fingers to the chest. You will want to work in the same direction as your lymph flows which is towards the heart. Be careful over sensitive areas like the breast. The more you brush, the less sensitive your skin will become. After you are done brushing, hop in the shower to wash off the dead skin cells that you’ve brushed off! This is such an easy, quick thing to add to your daily routine.
Why Should I Dry Skin Brush?
- Dry skin brushing helps to increase the circulation to the skin so it helps your body discharge metabolic waste.
- It also helps your skin to breathe because it removes dead skin cells as well as opening clogged pores. Without dry skin brushing, dead skin cells can just build up on the skin- gross!
- Dry skin brushing stimulates lymph flow. We all know how important it is to keep the lymph moving!
- It helps to reduce cellulite. Cellulite is just toxic waste that has accumulated in your body’s fat cells. Dry skin brushing helps the body detox more efficiently and get rid of the toxic junk trapped in your skin.
- It helps make your skin soft and healthy!
