Conventional Medicine has its place- but we need to change our view on overall health and wellness
Modern medicine has truly made a lot of leaps in the last hundred years. Antibiotics, pharmaceuticals, and especially emergency medicine have truly revolutionized healthcare. However, too much of a good thing is usually bad. Since the dawn of antibiotics and pharmaceuticals, we have been overusing them and creating a huge issue: each generation is becoming sicker and sicker. These drugs deplete our bodies of beneficial bacteria as well as essential nutrients, plus our foods are less nutritious because of the mineral depleted soil. This in turn is making people give birth to children that are already born partially depleted of these nutrients. This is why we are riddled with health issues like autism and autoimmune disorders. Our bodies cannot function with sub-optimal nutrition.
According to the World Health Organization, the worldwide profit for pharmaceuticals is $300 billion dollars. The major companies that are involved in drugs want to keep profits as high as possible, and the only way to do that is to ensure that people are sick. If we were all healthy, these companies would not be making such profits. They would be dependent on just taking care of emergencies and acute illnesses, which is not very profitable. The way that they ensure that money keeps rolling in is to make sure we eat plenty of processed foods, refined carbohydrates, processed and synthetic sugar, take antibiotics often, take a pill for every ache and pain, and to make us think that nutrition is not important. Now, I don’t doubt that there are doctors out there that are truly wanting to help people and make a difference. But their classes are funded by these companies that are ensuring these future doctors only know how to diagnose illness and prescribe medication.
Let’s take a common illness, like diabetes. In the United States, the annual cost of diabetes management was $245 BILLION in 2012.
This was a 41% increase from 2007 when it was $174 billion. The more people that get diabetes, the more money the doctors and pharmaceutical companies make. This is why they have demonized full-fat foods like butter and even liver, and claimed that we need more “whole grains”- fat helps stabilize blood sugar and keep us fuller longer. Whole grains have benefit in moderation, but over-consumption will spike blood sugar and set us up for blood sugar issues.
About 450,000 prescription-related adverse reactions happen every year. These reactions cost about $136 BILLION dollars annually to treat. When you are given a medication, you would think that you are being given a proven, safe drug when in reality it is quite a toss-up whether it will help you or hurt you. The studies for these drugs are so flawed- many are funded by the companies who created the drugs and they are willing to pay for a good outcome. In some studies, as long as less than 50% of the subjects didn’t have an adverse reaction, the drug is deemed safe and is approved. Also take into account that many people are not one just ONE drug, they are on several. These drugs have never been tested for safety while taken together- so you essentially are their test subject.
Merck is one of these companies that has truly made a bad name for itself. The company has paid out at least $5 billion in fines, has had many lawsuits against them, and they waited until 60,000 people died from one of their drugs before pulling it from the market. They care nothing for the people, only profit. Now they are poisoning girls with their vaccine Guardisil for HPV. This vaccine has met with a lot of scrutiny and has many people terrified. At least 100 girls have died from it and thousands more have been injured. The reactions tend to include things like autoimmune conditions, chronic migraines, hormonal problems and many girls are actually showing precancerous cells afterwards- which is what this vaccine is supposed to prevent! Many other countries are pulling this vaccine from the market because of its intense reactions. But here in the U.S., it’s being made mandatory in some states!
Holistic Health- Treat the body as a whole!
Conventional medicine likes to create disease and treat people as symptoms. Natural medicine likes to treat the person as a whole, and it looks for the root cause of illness. Millions of people are starting to realize that doctors and pharmaceutical companies are truly only out for themselves and that they have no idea how to treat people with nutrition. If you ever study nutrition and the individual nutrients, you will see that THAT is science. Vitamins, minerals, and enzymes are responsible for regulating everything in our bodies: hormones, neurotransmitter, and biochemical reactions. There is nothing simple about nutrition. It is time to take back our health, and safe our future generations from being science experiments.
